Just like that, another Brooklyn Mash is in the books. The whirlwind weekend included a five-course meal at TWO Restaurant, a free Mikal Cronin concert, a mansion full of beer, and a self-guided tour through one of Chicago’s coolest neighborhoods. If you missed out, damn, we’re sorry. Seriously, it was awesome. The good news is, you can drink Brooklyn beer whenever you want. Find one near you with our BEER FINDER. Here’s until next year!
Dinner With Friends
What better way to start a weekend of drinking beer than with an exceptional five-course dinner? Brooklyn’s House Chef, Andrew Gerson, collaborated with two Chicago chefs, Danny Espinoza and Kevin Cuddihee to create the Dinner With Friends menu which was off-the-charts delicious. We were treated to a spread of Brooklyn beers including Sorachi Ace, Bel Air Sour, Galahad (Ghost Bottle), Framboise, K Is For Kriek, and Black Ops.
Timberland Presents: Mikal Cronin
Brooklyn teamed up with Timberland to bring indie-rocker Mikal Cronin down to Pilsen’s historic Thalia Hall for Timberland Presents. Local bands The Father Costume and VARSITY opened the show while Timberland treated guests to custom screen-printed t-shirts and some sweet gear giveaways.
Beer Mansion
Saturday night’s Beer Mansion was seriously like something out of a movie. No joke, this was one of the coolest beer fests/parties/events we’ve ever been to. The event space was utilized perfectly as guests could roam from room to room and experience all that each had to offer. The IPA Room was home to Logan Arcade’s pop-up arcade, Reckless Records took over the concert space for guests to peruse their mini record shop, and Kimski had a line going all night for their Korean/Polish inspired dishes. Local bands Clearance, Pool Holograph, and Yawn, kept the tunes rollin’ all night and Cholula Hot Sauce was on hand for free hot sauce and bites.
Pilsen Immersion
Sunday’s Neighborhood Immersion was a self-guided exploration through one of Chicago’s coolest neighborhoods: Pilsen. Participants checked in at “The Trailhead” aka NYCH Gallery, where they were given a guidebook and coupons for stops along the route, each one serving up Brooklyn beers and a special discount at their shop. Pretty good way to spend a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, right? Right.
Moral of the story: Brooklyn knows how to throw a party. Or four. We hope you can make it out to next year’s Mash and if you’re having serious FOMO right now, you can still catch the Mash Tour at cities around the world this fall. See all the stops here.
