On March 12, 1996, Caldera Brewing Company was incorporated in southern Oregon, and by August of 1997 brewed its first keg of beer. Initially distributed only in Oregon and only available through draft, by 2005 demand had exploded to the point where Caldera realized they needed more distribution, and and began to can their own beer. In 2006 Caldera became the first microbrewery in Oregon to both brew and can their beer. By 2008, the brewery added 22oz bottles to their 12oz cans to further accommodate the demand. In addition to being popular with the masses, Caldera’s beers have also impressed the judges; in 2011 their Old Growth Imperial Stout, Rauch Ur Bock, Vas Deferens, and Todd’s Special Bitter Ale all took home gold medals from the North American Beer Awards, showing the world that Caldera Brewing can brew beers that are both tasty and expertly crafted. So if you want to try one of the best beers of the Pacific Northwest, look no further than Caldera Brewing.
