Paulaner Brauerei was established in 1634 in Munich by Minim friars of the Neudeck ob der Au cloister. Starting with the first Oktoberfest of 1810, Paulaner has been one of only six breweries that provide beer for Munich’s official Oktoberfest celebration. Paulaner has long been at the forefront of German beer development, and is credited with establishing the traditional style of bock beer that we enjoy today. Currently the brewery produces beers ranging from Oktoberfest Marzen to Hefeweizen to Doppelbock. In 2013, Paulaner opened up its first United States brewpub in New York City, where they brew all the classic beers on-site and pair it with upscale versions of traditional Bavarian dishes. For over 350 years, Paulaner has been brewing the best beer that Munich has to offer, and they don’t look to be slowing down any time soon.
