Michael Blumfield is the Region Vice President for Sunset Distributing. Michael attended California State University, Long Beach, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Business Marketing. He spent the first six years of his career in the beverage industry at Heineken USA and has since spent the past eleven years working in beverage distribution.

Michael is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sunset’s day-to-day business, including sales and operational efficiency, management of the company’s P&L, and driving market share and retail growth.

When he is not working, Michael enjoys traveling with his wife and two daughters and spending time outdoors, including biking and hiking.

Anthony Trento is the Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing at Sunset Distributing, where he leads the sales, brand, and key account teams. With over 15 years in the beverage industry, nearly all on the distributor side, Anthony brings a ground-up perspective to his leadership, having started his career as a merchandiser before moving through chain and on-premise management roles.

He holds a degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of La Verne.

When he isn’t selling your brands, Anthony can be found on the golf course, planning his next trip, or on a never-ending quest for the perfect eggplant parmigiana.

Elise Horwitz is the Director of Brands & Marketing at Sunset Distributing, with over 15 years of experience in the beverage industry.
After studying Business Administration at Cal State Fullerton, Elise built her foundation in event planning before moving into the retail side of the beer industry — managing the first craft beer gastropub in the Inland Empire and helping open a renowned craft cocktail bar in Riverside. She then joined the supplier side, coordinating events for world award-winning brewery The Bruery in Orange County, where she then discovered her next passion for distribution at Stone Distributing Company.

Today, Elise leads the Brand Team at Sunset Distributing, working closely with suppliers to develop long-term growth strategies and help drive their success across Southern California. She plays an integral role in shaping Sunset’s portfolio vision, partnership exploration and marketing direction.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with family and friends, arranging flowers, cheering on the Anaheim Ducks, and a good cup of iced tea — or tequila.

John Miklas is the Director of Chains for Sunset Distributing. John attended UCLA, graduating in 2013 with a degree in English. Previous to working in distribution, John worked in the craft beer world and built out the chain business units at local San Diego breweries AleSmith and Societe. John joined Stone Distributing in 2023 and helped see through the transition to Sunset.

Currently, he leads the Key Account team at Sunset and oversees the strategy and communication that links our suppliers and our field sales team with our retailer partners.

When he is not working, John enjoys reading, eating tacos and chasing his kids around the park.

Heather Collins is the General Sales Manager in San Diego for Sunset Distributing. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!) and her MBA from Oklahoma State University. Heather began her beverage sales career in 2006, building extensive experience across distributors and suppliers throughout the Central US before relocating to San Diego in 2015 to continue her work in distribution.

Heather is responsible for managing the sales team in San Diego for Chain, Convenience, Broad Market and Venue, collaborating with key decision makers and team members to increase sales and distribution to all retailers in the territory.

When she is not at work, Heather loves to spend time with her husband and 3 dogs and enjoys world travel.

Matt Lukich is the General Sales Manager in Los Angeles + for Sunset Distributing. He attended Northern Illinois University, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Communications. After seven years with Boston Beer, Matt joined Classic Distributing & Beverage as Craft Brand Manager, where he steadily advanced to oversee Import Brands and the Molson Coors portfolio. He went on to serve as Director of Brand Strategy, managing the entire non-alc portfolio in excess of 6 million cases.

Matt is responsible for managing the sales team in Los Angeles and surrounding counties for Chain, Convenience, Broad Market and Venue, collaborating with key decision makers and team members to increase sales and distribution to all retailers in the territory.

When he is not at work, Matt likes to spend time with his family, traveling, and golfing.

Cory Holcomb is the Sales Execution Manager for Sunset Distributing. Cory attended the University of California, Davis graduating with a degree in Mathematics in 2017. After working in sales for multiple distributors, Cory jumped into analytics and has continued to this day.

In his current role, Cory helps the team analyze performance and develop new processes with the goal of driving sales. He loves helping the team succeed with a consistent flow of information that drives decision making.

When he is not at work, Cory enjoys painting, archery, and thrifting. He is an avid fan of the Anaheim Ducks.

John Morales serves as Director of Human Resources for Sunset Distributing, bringing more than 36 years of experience in the beverage industry and 18 years of leadership in human resources. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Business Administration, John is dedicated to fostering positive workplace cultures, developing talent, and supporting organizational success through effective people strategies. His extensive industry knowledge and commitment to employee engagement make him a trusted leader and valued resource for both employees and management.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Rosa, their three children, and four grandchildren. He is an avid golfer and a fan of L.A.’s professional sports teams.

Laura Sleeman is the Director of Finance & Accounting for Sunset Distributing. She has a bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.  Prior to joining Sunset Distributing Laura spent 16 years working in several accounting positions at a global manufacturing company based in Chicago, most recently as the Corporate Controller of the company’s Rail division.

In her current role, Laura is responsible for managing the financial statements for Sunset Distributing and directs the accounting staff.

Outside of work, Laura is a self-proclaimed energy drink connoisseur. She enjoys watching college football and basketball, especially her Michigan State Spartans. Laura also loves spending time in the mountains–skiing down them in the winter, and training for 29029 endurance events by hiking up mountains in the summer.

Yadhira “Yadi” Marquez is the IT Systems Manager for Sunset Distributing. Yadi attended Autonomous University of Baja California, where she earned her degree in Computer Engineering as well as her Master’s degree in Information Technology.

Throughout her career, Yadi has worked in a variety of IT roles including Technical Support, Systems Administrator, Cloud Administrator, DevOps Engineer, IT Manager, and IT Director. Her broad experience across multiple areas of technology has given her a strong understanding of both business operations and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Yadi is responsible for networking, security, systems administration, and IT support operations for both Sunset warehouse locations. She plays a key role in maintaining secure and reliable systems while supporting the company’s day-to-day operations and long-term technology initiatives.

When she is not at work, Yadi enjoys spending time with family and her two Pomeranians.

Joe is the Senior Director of Operations for Sunset Distributing. He started out as a merchandiser and has been in the beverage industry since 1992.

Joe oversees the operations team for both the Los Angeles and San Diego locations, managing distribution, warehouse operations, and delivery logistics. He works closely with his teams to improve efficiency and support continued company growth.

When he is not at work, he enjoys attending lacrosse, tennis, and softball games with his family.
