Brooklyn Brewery Mash is a week-long traveling festival with parties, art, comedy, screenings, discussions, pop-up supperclubs, all featuring everyone’s favorite beverage. Chicago is one of eight cities across America and Europe that Brooklyn Brewery chose to throw this party and we’re very excited to spend a week celebrating with them. We hope you’ll join us at some events, too!

Brooklyn Brewery is all about community and collaboration; coming together to create something exciting. This is their third Mash tour and third time bringing it to the streets of Chicago. Brooklyn Brewery plays an important role in cultivating community in New York and has done so over the past 26 years by supporting cultural institutions, sponsoring local organizations and events, and encouraging artists to explore their passions. They partner with these kinds of people and organizations to put on a really fantastic week of events.

As the leader of one of the country’s top craft breweries for twenty-six years, Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy brings keen insight to the beer industry as the craft beer revolution continues to boom. Steve will be moderating a panel discussion between John and Ben Saller, founders and head brewers at Atlas Brewing Company; Erin Lowder; Eric McNeil; and John Holl, editor of All About Beer; plus other local craft brewers discussing the ups and downs facing brewers today and how things could change moving forward.

Good Beer Hunting‘s Michael Kiser hosts Brooklyn Brewmaster Garrett Oliver for a tasting of some rare Brooklyn Ghost Bottles and a live recording of Good Beer Hunting. This will be the third time Kiser has covered Brooklyn’s MASH and first time Garrett has been to the studio, so be prepared for some great stories. After the podcast wraps up, the barbecue will start and the beers will continue to flow.

Beers making an appearance: 1/2 Ale, Lancelot, K is for Kriek, Hand & Seal Cognac Edition, Summer Ale & Blast!

Brooklyn Brewery really knows how to close out Chicago Mash: with an epic, free party hosted by Timberland and music from Surfer Blood. The yet-to-be-named opener is coming all the way from Brooklyn, so let them know you’re coming and they’ll have a cold one (or two) waiting for you.
