Football is back! After a long (and eventful) offseason, football has finally returned and we can spend our Sundays glued in front of the TV with friends and family with snacks and drinks. But, what’s your team for this upcoming season?
Your team, you ask? Yes! You need a team of drinks to get you from kickoff to the postseason, and we’re here to help you create a team of your own.
Offense
Quarterback
Bud Light – The franchise, the standard, the face that runs the place. Bud Light, like the quarterback, is the centerpiece of your team. It’s a cold and crisp leader that can handle any and everything you throw at it, leading your watch party to victory every Sunday. And it’s the official beer partner of the NFL!
Running Back
Goose Island 312 and Kona Big Wave – For running backs, we picked two long time crowd favorites – Goose Island 312 and Kona Big Wave. Both are great foundations to have at a party, pairing well with light appetizers, as well as chicken and fish dishes.
Wide Receivers
Michelob Ultra, Nutrl – The wide receiver is fast and light, but effective. Michelob Ultra and Nutrl are light beverages but full of flavor. Ultra is made with the purest ingredients, which gives it a crisp distinct flavor. Nutrl Seltzer is just as minimal in how it’s created, but also how flavorful it is. Seltzer, Vodka, and real juice. That’s all you need to make an effective drink for gamedays.
Tight End
Founders All Day IPA – A proper tight end is a double threat. They can both block and catch a pass. Founders flagship beer does the same! It has the flavor profile of a traditional IPA, but it’s light and sessionable so you can have more than one if you want. It’s the swiss pocket knife of the party!
Offensive Linemen
Hopewell Ride or Die IPA & Spiteful IPA – For your offensive line – you need something that’s big and reliable. And these two do quite the job. Hopewell’s fan favorite Ride or Die IPA has bright notes of grapefruit and pine, making it a staple in many fridges everywhere. Spiteful’s flagship beer is just as bold – sporting notes of candied orange as well as grapefruit. These two IPAs lead the charge, making sure your football watch party team scores and scores often.
Defense
Defensive Linemen
Busch Light – When you’re hosting a watch party, you often want to go for beverages that you can reach for during the pre game, kickoff, halftime, and even the last minute crunch time. Busch Light checks off all of those boxes, making it a no-brainer and one of the first things you pick up for your watch party.
Linebacker
Goose Hazy Bear Hug – This hazy IPA will tackle you with notes of white grapes, peaches and guava. It’s a bear that is probably a bit less intimidating than a Chicago one, but it’s just as impactful.
Defensive Back
Liquid Death – The defensive backs make sure that there’s no gaps left by the defense when executing a play. You need to make sure your own team’s defense is fool proof, and Liquid Death is that solution. Crisp, refreshing canned water that will murder your thirst – Liquid Death is the perfect compliment to any appetizer or dish at the party.
Special Teams
Cutwater, Beatbox, Skimmers – These are just as important to the team as any other player. Whether it’s a Cutwater ready to drink cocktail – from a Spicy Bloody Mary, to an Espresso Martini, to a Lime Margarita… or do you prefer a refreshing Skimmers Vodka Tea… or are you going to bring the party w/ Beatbox Party Punch? The Special Teams compliment the team and help them gain an advantage during drives. These beverages do the same, providing a bright flavorful flash to the party. Bring a pack of these to round out the team and make any watch party a success.
