When 312 Urban Wheat first launched in 2004, no one could anticipate the impact it would have on our great city. From the get go it was a beer that embodied the qualities of Chicago we hold close to our hearts: no-nonsense, down to business, and perfect for any occasion. Now, over 12 years later, it’s hard to picture Chicago without 312. And since 3/12 is just around the corner, why not celebrate?
Thanks to everyone who made it out for our 3 Sheeps Brewing “Beat the Brewer” event at WhirlyBall! When we weren’t incessantly running into each other with bumper cars, we took time to enjoy some rare beers from 3 Sheeps including the ghost pepper infused, Hoppy Spice.
Meet the latest addition to Goose Island’s already impressive lineup: Four Star Pils. Brewed with German and American hops, this golden-hued Pilsner has a light, fresh body with a clean finish.
We had a blast welcoming Brooklyn Brewery’s New York Comic Con collaboration beer, Defender IPA to Chicago. We celebrated the release in style at the one-and-only Rotofugi Gallery with tunes from Cage & Aquarium, custom comic book portraits from artist Kat Janda, a raffle for some awesome artwork by Khary Randolph and of course, killer beer.
In few situations is this more apparent than in collaboration beers, when two breweries combine their creative energies, talents, time and hard work to create something together. Competition be damned.
