We did it, we made it through yet another Chicago winter. Temperatures are slowly (but surely) rising and the sun doesn’t set at 5pm anymore. Spring is right around the corner – and that means more outdoor activities like hanging out at patios with friends and just enjoying the nice(r) weather.
And of course your friends here at Lakeshore Beverage are here to make sure you spend the spring months with the best beverages in the world. No matter if you drink beer, seltzers, cocktails, or something else. Keep reading to find out who’s on this murderer’s row of hot spring beverages!
Did you know that May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month? Celiac Disease may or may not sound familiar to you but it is something that is more than likely to affect someone that you know like a friend or loved one. According to John Hopkins Medicine, more than 2 million people in the United States have celiac disease and not all of them even know they have it. Symptoms of a gluten intolerance include abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches and more.
Beer is made of gluten, so someone with an intolerance won’t be able to enjoy a round with friends at the bar. But not all is lost, there are some beers (and non beers) that are gluten reduced, or even free options you can enjoy whether taking a pack home or enjoying a pint at the bar. Here are six options you can drink for a pleasant gluten free (or reduced) experience.
The (figurative) snow and ice has begun to thaw out and spring has finally sprung! It’s been a milder than usual winter, but the temperatures are trending upwards and nicer days are on the horizon. That means we’re closer to outdoor patios and baseball games and just being outside and enjoying the weather with friends and family. And you can’t celebrate spring without a few drinky-drinks.
Leave it to your friends here at Lakeshore Beverage to guide you through the season’s new and returning favorites to help you raise a toast with friends to spring!
With the nice summer weather (when it isn’t raining), we’re trying to spend alot more time outside. Outdoor parties, BBQs, happy hours … but here’s an idea, let’s have an outdoor movie viewing party! It wouldn’t take much to get everything set up – The New York Times has a guide here you can follow –

We’re midway through the festival season here in Chicago and I’m willing to bet that you’ve already been to two or three. Whether they’re the small neighborhood fests or the larger City of Chicago-produced events, outdoor events are the lifeblood of Chicago culture. Walking around and eating food, listening to music, buying independent crafts and art, and just enjoying the fresh summer air – Chicago’s large and diverse neighborhoods celebrate their uniqueness by throwing large block parties that are open to all ages and provide endless amounts of fun for the entire family.
I feel like since we have so many of them, it becomes hard to understand and appreciate what goes on in the background to make the magic happen. It struck me while I was at Lakeview PrideFest last month with a friend.
It’s the start of a brand new year. A chance to begin anew, create new resolutions to become a healthier, better you. It is time to turn over a new leaf and-
Wait, how many times have you heard this before? A lot, probably.
And for good reason – most people give up on their “better for you” resolutions within a month or so. Why? Because they’re not specific enough in their goals. “Becoming healthier” is such a broad term. It could very well mean anything. Consuming fewer calories or carbs, working out more, drinking less alcohol. It’s endless.
Well, your friends at Lakeshore Beverage can help you out with your New Years’ goals. We compiled a list of healthier choices for drinks. Whether you want to drink fewer carbs, or maybe add some probiotics to your diet, we have something to help you out in your health journey, whether it’s January 1st or June 17th, because it’s never a wrong time to start drinking better.
